On 36 acres of land at the eastern edge of Perry, Herman L. Rowley founded our community in 1955 with a vision of making life better for his Masonic brothers and their families. We’ve been able to build upon this simple but sustainable mission, staying true to our founder’s principles of camaraderie and caring for others.

Today, Rowley Masonic Community is a thriving retirement community open to everyone. Dedicated to meeting the individual desires and needs of seniors in Iowa, we’re expanding to offer a full continuum of care including new residences, gathering spaces and innovative choices in health care.

We are operated by a Board of Directors through the Grand Lodge of Iowa, with a trust agreement administered by the District Court of Dallas County, Iowa, and Otley Lodge #299 AF&AM.
Our Mission:
At Rowley Masonic Community, our Team joyfully serves residents in every way possible, enabling them to live fully with dignity, laughter and total respect…ALWAYS.
— Adopted by Board of Trustees of the Herman L. Rowley Memorial Trust, July 21, 2014.
